Swooping Seagull on Marble

Stunning art deco statue of a seagull riding a wave. The statue is made from spelter and has lovely coppery coloured detailing to the feathers and head. Very well modelled, the bird is in excellent condition. The marble base is an unusual oval shape with a mottled green base and cream surface and is in similarly wonderful condition. There is a minute chip to the cream marble as photographed. The bird detaches from the wave to make it easier to move. A magnificent example of art deco . Height - 47 cms. Length - 46.5 cms. Depth - 13 cms of marble (15.5 cms including seagull).
