Spelter Elephant Statue

Beautiful art deco spelter statue of an elephant on a marble base. An original from the 1930s and most likely of French origin, the elephant is very well modelled and in excellent condition; there is some scratching to the spelter as pictured. The marble has a banded front with an orange/red rippled marble to the rest of the base. The marble is in very good condition with 2 very small chips to the front but does not detract from the beauty of this piece . A stunning art deco piece and a rare subject. Length - 35.25 cms.
