Picchioli Lady and Bird

Large and stunning art deco statue from the 1930s. This original piece is made from spelter with a chalkware or plaster base. Signed by Italian sculptor Picchioli. Spectacularly modelled, it has a lady with a beautiful outfit which drapes to her hand. She is reaching out to a similarly wonderfully detailed bird and in a fantastic streamlined pose. In very good condition however there are some small knocks here and there, her hair, knee and hand show some small signs of wear and it has been touched up with paint in some very small spots. Her nose, fingers and toes are intact which are usually the first things to get damaged. A magnificent and stylish vintage art deco figure. Width - 64.5 cms. Height - 33 cms. Depth - 12.5 cms.
