Marcel Leducq Spelter Deer & Fawn

Spectacular figure of deer and fawn by Marcel Leducq - a French sculptor of the 1920s and 30s. Signed to the base of the marble, the pair of animals are made from patinated spelter and are wonderfully modelled. This is on a gorgeous oval black marble base and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks; a rough edge can be felt on one side but not really seen. This original statue is a rare find especially in this condition. A large and stunning art deco statement piece. Width - 56.5 cms. Height - 29 cms. Depth - 18 cms.
