Marcel Leducq Swallows Statue

Spectacular swooping swallows statue by Marcel Leducq - a French sculptor of the 1920s and 30s. This fabulous piece is of two spelter swallows with beautiful detailing on the bough of a tree. The green branch is wonderfully modelled with leaves. This is on a cream and black marble base and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The two swallows are removable for easy manoeuvring.  Signed to the bottom of the bough, this original statue is a rare find especially in this condition. A large and stunning art deco statement piece. Length - 65.25 cms. Height - 44 cms. Depth - 17.5 cms.
