Lucien Alliot Bronze Panther on Marble

Stunning and highly valued art deco patinated bronze panther by Lucien Alliot (1877 - 1967), a French sculptor whose work was exhibited in the 1924 Summer Olympics as part of a sculpture event. This rare and special piece depicts an elongated panther with a curled tail. In excellent condition with some minor scratching. The marble base is of high quality with brown and green paneling to the front. In very good condition with a couple of small minor cracks as photographed; easily mistaken for flecks in the marble and mentioned for accuracy only. A rare and truly fabulous example of his work.
