Le Jan 'Dolly' Crackle Glaze Elephant

Stunning large French art deco elephant sculpture in a beautiful crackle glaze.  Titled "Dolly" and signed LE JAN, this is piece is dated in the 1920s. The impressed name is very difficult to photograph and is more on touch rather than on sight although the name Dolly is clear. Very well modelled, this is in excellent condition. There are a couple of original kiln firing frits attached to the glaze on the plinth dating from manufacture and a very small chip to one corner of the base but minor flaws for such a large and impressive piece. This is a wonderfully iconic and original statue from the art deco period.  Height - 30 cms. Length - 42 cms. Depth - 13 cms.
