Edmond Laurent Etling Bronze Dancer

Rare and beautiful bronze under the French retailer Edmond Laurent Etling (1878 - 1940). Etling was not a designer but founded a gallery of decorative arts and worked with sculptors such as Demetre Chiparus, Maurice Guirard-Rivière and Marcel Bouraine to name a few. It is not known which of those sculptors designed this piece. This wonderful lady is an early 20th century bronze dancer with a gilded bronze dress and elongated limbs typical of the deco design age. Signed to the base of the bronze, the figure is stunningly modelled and in excellent condition. It is mounted on a black marble socle which is in excellent condition. A lovely vintage art deco piece of history. Height - 38.75 cms.
