Antoine-Louis Barye Bronze Panther

Absolutely stunning bronze panther. This is after the renowned sculptor Antoine-Louis Barye (1796 - 1875) but is a later reproduction (the originals commanding thousands of pounds). This piece was sculpted using the lost wax process using the original mould meaning that every contour is captured from the original design. The panther is in a fabulous prowling pose. This spectacular piece is a patinated bronze on a wooden base. Signed to the back of the bronze Barye. This piece is substantial in both size and weight. A high quality and fabulous art deco piece.
