Alonzo Bronze Dancing Girl with Hoop

Alonzo Bronze Dancing Girl with Hoop

£425.00Price
Stunning art deco bronze statue made after Dominique Alonzo. Alonzo was a Parisian sculptor who exhibited at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français from 1912 to 1926. This piece is a beautiful casting of the original Dancing Girl with Hoop c1920 and is solid bronze bearing the signature and foundry mark. This is a reproduction of the original casting; the original would cost many many thousands! The girl is spectacularly modelled with a long elegant features and in a wonderful dancing pose. This is a large and heavy piece sitting on top of a good quality red and black marble base. The hoop is a new replacement and is made from copper. I quite like the slight colour difference between that and the bronze as it highlights the hoop nicely but this could be painted or replaced if preferred to match. The photographs also show that she looks good without hoop at all. The attention to detail is fabulous and this would make a wonderful statement piece. A truly magnificent art deco style bronze figure. Height - 47 cms.
