Pair of Seagulls on Marble

Rare large and stunning art deco spelter statue of two swooping seagulls over waves on a marble base. The birds are fantastically modelled and the spelter tails and wings have a wonderful golden patina to them. Made in France, this original art deco piece is in excellent condition. The base is made from differing colours of marble with a striking monochrome front and in excellent condition with no cracks; one very small nibble to the base as photographed and a chip to the back corner which is obviously not noticeable once in place. Some very small nicks to the spelter. A very large and impressive art deco piece. Height - 28.5 cms. Width - 60.25 cms (65 total width inc wing tips). Depth - 16 cms.
